Burn Bright, Burn Right
Candles bring warmth to any space, but safety is key.
Here’s how to enjoy them responsibly:
Always extinguish before leaving the room.
A candle should never burn unsupervised.
Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable objects.
Keep out of reach of kids and pets.
Choose safe spots away from little hands and paws.
Limit burn time to 4 hours.
This keeps your candle lasting longer and prevents the jar from getting too hot.
Leave a little for safety.
For a safe and lasting experience, stop burning your candle when about 1.5 cm of wax remains. This signals your candle journey is complete and helps protect the jar from overheating or breakage.
Wick-ed Good Tips for a Perfect Burn
Trim for success.
Remember to always trim the wick to 6mm before each burn. This keeps the flame steady and reduces smoke.
Got tunnel-vision?
If your candle is melting only in the centre, that’s known as "tunneling."
For an even burn every time, allow the candle to melt across the entire surface—creating a 'candle memory' to prevent tunneling.
Flame Too Big?
Snuff out the flame, let it cool, then trim the wick to about 6mm using sharp scissors or a wick trimmer. Relight and enjoy the perfect, cozy glow.
Flame Out?
If the flame goes out, let the wick cool, then gently twist to loosen fibers before relighting.
Still having trouble? Extinguish, blot excess wax near the wick with a paper towel, and try again!
Wick Off-Centre?
After extinguishing the candle, let the wax cool slightly while still soft. Use a toothpick or tweezers to gently centre the wick for an even, safe burn next time.
